Point of use, or mains fed water coolers have many advantages over bottled water coolers, and with our complete service available in the North East of England, you will never have to worry about supplying water for your employees again.

Water is essential to life. We cannot live without it and nowadays it is recognised that many of us need to drink more of it to maintain a healthy body.

Workplaces are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of employees drinking more water and are  providing water in the workplace.

Traditionally this has been done with the bottled water cooler, but with greater awareness of the carbon footprint, there is a better way - the point of use water cooler.

Why install a point of use water cooler?

There are three factors, environmental, financial and health and safety.

Environmental

Consider the carbon footprint of a bottle of water, the amount of energy used to
    • Manufacture the bottle
    • Transport the bottle to be filled
    • Fill the bottle
    • Transport the filled bottle to the workplace
    • Remove the empty bottle from the workplace
    • Dispose of the bottle at the end of its lifespan
None of this applies to a point of use water cooler.

Financial

The financial savings will vary according to where you obtain your bottled water and how much you use as different companies have different tarrifs. One thing is certain, with the price of bottles rising with the price of the oil they are made from, the prices won't be coming down.

Bottles hold 19l of water. The cost of that 19l of water from a metered supply is less than 1p. Bottled water will never be that cheap.

Not only do you have to consider the actual cost of the water, but the hiden costs of the space needed to store the bottles, both full and empty and the staff time to change the bottle when it's empty.

That cost isn't there with a point of use water cooler.

Health and Safety

19l of water weighs 19Kg. Somebody has to move that from the storeage area to the water cooler, pick it up, turn it upside down and put it on top of the water cooler. This needs training in the correct way to do it and also needs a manual handling risk assessment in order to comply with regulations. These two factors also have financial implications.

How can you benefit from our service?

We will sterilise the cooler and change the filter in accordance with the regulations in force at the time. It is currently every six months.
